When I think of turkey, I think of cranberries. If you are like me you grew up eating Ocean Spray Cranberries out of a can. Yep, the jellied variety were our go to. I didn't know you could buy fresh cranberries and who knows, back in the day you likely couldn't.
Today, I am sharing my favourite recipe for cranberry sauce. This recipe is fresh and the flavour of orange, bright and delicious. Occasionally, I have substitute store bought juice for the freshly squeezed orange juice, but the flavour of fresh squeezed is just that much nicer!
Fresh Orange Cranberry Sauce
- 1 - 12 oz package of fresh (or frozen) cranberries
- Juice of 2 oranges or 1/2 cup of orange juice
- 1/2 cup honey or sweetener of your choice
Put all ingredients into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Continue to heat until cranberries begin to pop and cook just a little longer, stirring to ensure even cooking. Cool and serve.
