Christmas Dough Ornaments

Are you looking for a quick, inexpensive Christmas craft to do with your children during the holiday season this year?  You can likely make these with supplies you already have on hand.  They can be decorated with glitter, paints, felt pens, sequins or anything else you can think of.

1 cup table salt

1 cup warm water

2 cups all-purpose flour

Christmas Dough Ornaments

In a small bowl, mix together the salt and warm water.  Add the flour and mix well to combine.

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface, form into a ball and knead for about 5 minutes.

Roll the dought to about 1/4" thickness and cut out shapes with your favourite cookie cutters.

Using a skewer poke holes at the tops of the ornaments for string.

Place the ornaments onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 200F for 5 to 6 hours. Transfer to wire racks and allow to dry overnight.

After drying your ornaments are ready to decorate.  The sky is the limit: use glitter, sequins, puffy paint, felt markers, white glue and candy to personalize your own decorations.
